MAY 05 Kingdom    influence    greeting    to you    in Jesus    Name    and    I will    like    to welcome you    to    the    month    of April    2018.    It    is    the    4 th  month    of the year and it is our post-resurrection season. To God alone be all the glory. Our    series    this    month    is    on    Faith,    particularly    on    “working    your    faith”    what    is    the    process    or    “discipline”    in    making    our    faith    work for    us? We    don’t    hear    enough    of    the    word    “discipline”    in    our    churches    any    longer;    people    just    don’t    like    to    be    disciplined.    Faith    is not    all    about    profession    but    as    I    have    said    many    times,    faith    is working    out what you    really    believe.    “My    brothers    and    sisters, what good    is    it    if    people    say    they    have    faith    but    do    nothing    to    show    it     …    But    how    can    I    see your    faith    apart    from your    actions?    Instead, I’ll    show    you    my    faith    by    putting    it    into    practice    in    faithful    action”    (James    2:14,    18).    The    problem    is    we    live    in    a    microwave    society where    no    one    wants    to    work    for    something    before    they    get    it.     We    don’t    want    to    build    anymore;    they    just    want    to    have Matthew    7:24-27,    we    saw    the    principle    of    discipline    and    building    by    faith    on    a    rock    as    against    building    on    the    sand.    Jesus    many times    in    the    Bible    uses    parables    to    express    or    teach    us    eternal    truth    and    in    some    passages    He    will    use    agricultural    terms    i.e. “whatever    a    man    sows,    that    is    what    he    will    reap”.    In    this    passage    however,    He    is    using    architectural    terms    to    speak    to    us.    This implies    that    for    you    to    physically    see    the    building,    a    lot    of    ground    work    must    first    be    done,    it    will    not    only    involve    some    ground work    but    it    involves    tenacity.    For    this    reason    we    see    many    believers’    struggles    with    faith    and    possessing    their    possessions. Nobody    want    to    build…    to    have    a    good    character,    takes    building,    to    have    a    good    relationship    takes    building,     it    may    take    stress, or    disappointments    and    aggravations    but,    a    person    who    want    to    build    must    be    ready    for    all    these    because    they    are    part    of    the process,    and    it    takes    discipline.    Jesus    in    this    passage    is    not    teaching    us    how    to    build    a    house    but    how    to    build    our    life.    The concern    here    is    that    most    Christian    has    the    tendency    to    be    hearers    and    not    doer    of    the    Word    of    God    they    hear.    They    love    to hear    the    word;    they    will    come    to    church    and    hear    the    Word    or    connect    on    the    television    to    hear    the    Word.    I    understand    that “faith    comes    by    hearing    and    by    hearing    the Word    of    God”    (Romans    10:17).    But    the    faith you    have    is    useless    if you    are    not    going    to work it out in and for your life and circumstances. It is not about hearing the Word but doing what the Word say to do. He    doesn’t    want    us    to    hear    about    faith    for    victorious    living    and    refuse    to    work    it    out    to    live    victoriously,    it    is    not    enough    hearing about    loving your    neighbour,    we    must     put    it    to    practice    even    if    it    takes    several    times    to    master    the Word.    It    is    not    about    hearing it    and    quoting    it    but    it    is    actively    engaging    in    the     process     of    doing    what    you    hear.    When    what    you    believe    infiltrate    your behaviour,    that    process    is what    gives    us    the    foundation.   We’ve    got    to    develop    the    discipline    of    doing    the Word    of    God,    there    is not    short    cut    to    successful    kingdom    living,    working your    faith    take    serious    discipline.    In Jesus    story    of    the    two    people    that    build, we    must    understand    that    the    same    circumstance    was    presented    to    them.    One    spends    time    to    prepare    “discipline”    while    the other    did    not    prepare    but    start    building.    The    man    who    built    on    the    rock    had    to    dig    deep    to    build    and    the    other    man    built    on    the soil,      the      different    was      the      preparation      or      “discipline”.    The      test      here    was      not      about      the      soil      but      about      our      preparation      or “discipline”,    both    of    them    did    not    find    it    conducive    to    build.    However,    the    one    man    was    willing    to    go    through    the    discipline    or process    and    the    other    was    not    willing.    They    both    had    the    option    of    building    their    houses    on    the    rock    but    he    was    not    willing    to Our    problem    then    is    not    the    condition    or    situation we    find    ourselves,    the    problem    most    Christians    have    is    the    discipline. They    are not    disciplined    enough    in    working    their    faith,    both    of    these    men    stepped    into    the    same    soil    that    was    not    conditioned    for    what they    are    to    build,    but    one    took    time    to    dig    deep    down    because    he    understood    the    power    of    proper    foundation.    So, when we    are doers    of    the    Word,    we    will    dig    deep    for    the    rock    but    if    you    are    just    a    hearer    of    the    Word,    you    go    for    the    promise    of    the    without the    preparation    or    discipline. A    doer    prepares    for    the    promise,    because    the    promise will    surely    come,    and when    it    appears,    all    to see    and    testify    to    the    glory    of    God    and    it    will    never    disappear.    Jesus    in    His    story    is    telling    you    and    I    to    work    our    faith     if    we    are    to receive    the    promise    of    God    in    our    lives    in    any    particular    area    we    are    trusting    Him.    It    is    worth    it    to    hit    the    rock    because    that    is when    we    learn    more    about    God    and    wisdom    to    deal    with    life    situation    and    that    is    when    our    strength    is    renewed.    Discipline makes    you    stronger    in    faith    and    tougher    to    stand    the    test    of    time,    through    discipline    you    get    more    fire    in    you    to    fight    the    good fight of faith and then lay hold of eternal life. Faith is not having it without process; faith is having it after process. It    is    my    prayer    that    you    will    be    a    doer    of    the    Word    and    not    just    hearer    and    as    a    result,    the    Word    of    God    will    distinguish    you    and JJ JJ JANUARY 01 FEBURARY 02 APRIL 04 Kingdom     influence     greeting     to you     in Jesus     Name     and     I will     like     to welcome you     to     the     month     of April     2018.     It     is     the     4 th  month     of the year and it is our post-resurrection season. Kingdom      influence      greeting      to you      in Jesus      Name      and      I will      like      to welcome you      to      the      month      of April      2018. It      is      my      prayer      that      you      will      be      a      doer      of      the      Word      and      not      just      hearer      and      as      a      result,      the      Word      of      God      will      distinguish      you      and
